Periodontal Surgery
If your periodontal disease is more advanced or hasn’t responded to a deep cleaning (scaling and root planing), a surgical treatment may be recommended. Due to the advances in treatment, periodontal surgery has become less invasive and more effective at treating advanced disease. There are a variety of procedures that may be recommended based on individual patient needs. Dr. Laborde will assess your teeth and gums and thoroughly explain the treatment options and benefits.

The main objectives of periodontal surgery are to stop the infection from progressing and stabilize the teeth so that they may be maintained for years to come. Due to the genetic nature of periodontal disease, it is very important to have regular cleanings and practice proper oral hygiene to prevent the condition from returning.
